Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Gallo Mechanical is looking for an Estimator to join our high performing team. As an Estimator, you are responsible for managing all aspects of developing cost estimates, bidding projects, and other pre-construction related services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reading drawings, specifications, and request for proposals to understand scope of work to bid Creating detailed cost estimates and high-level scoping of the project to create the estimate summary Monitoring weekly bid calendar and ensure timely completion of proposals Reviewing material takeoff for completeness and accuracy Compiling take-offs and equipment summaries into project estimate Obtaining pricing for specialty materials Soliciting bids from subcontractors and vendors Scope reviews of subcontractor and vendor quotes Drafting and finalizing proposals, bid forms, and cost breakouts Assisting in prepare conceptual budgets from preliminary design documents Assisting sales teams with procurement strategies Attending project scope review meetings with clients and engineers Turning over all estimating information to the project management team on awarded projects

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or significant related experience Ability to read and interpret project documents such as drawings & specifications Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Knowledge of Quickpen estimating software or similar Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. He or she should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and smaller projects Possess excellent written and oral communication skills Possess analytical and mathematical skills, quick thinking, and a solid understanding of the main principles of engineering, construction, and architecture
