Description of Position \xe2\x80\x93 The Estimator will provide support within the company s framing division by preparing accurate estimates for the cost of framing projects. They will report directly to the Director of Self-Perform Services.

Initial Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a detailed understanding of residential and commercial construction and estimating processes; Ability to read architectural and structural plans and develop cost estimates; Support profitable business decisions by evaluating relative risks or potential delays
• Maintain positive working relationships and effective communication with vendors, subcontractors, and team members regarding new and current construction projects
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the scopes of work for bids; Manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors; Qualify bids and have a complete understanding of all bid documents
• Review and evaluate all cost estimates; Ensure timely completion of estimates; Calculate takeoffs

Requirements of the Positions

• Education & Certification \xe2\x80\x93 Associate s or bachelor s degree, preferably in Construction Science, Engineering, Management, or related education and/or experience
• Recommended Work Experience \xe2\x80\x93 3+ years estimating experience in the construction industry; Multifamily framing construction experience preferred; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, PlanSwift, and Bluebeam
• Physical Demands \xe2\x80\x93 Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching (with arms and hands), handling, talking, hearing, depth perception, lifting, vision (close, peripheral, depth, ability to adjust focus), and lifting/moving up to 35+ pounds
• Working Conditions \xe2\x80\x93 Considerable local and non-local travel may be required; Work with a group and/or team; Frequent conflict situations may be present; Work after normal business hours; Potential hazardous work; Periodic exposure to extreme outside weather conditions and high levels of noise
