About the Company



Arrow Tank and Engineering has a long history of producing high-quality pressure vessels, dating back to 1958. Arrow serves many industries that require pressure vessels, including, but not limited to, oil and gas, water treatment, fire protection, nuclear, military, aerospace, marine, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and custom fabrication requests. Product lines offered by Arrow include cargo tanks, propane storage, and propane delivery bobtails, among others. Arrow also manufactures industrial process equipment and non-pressure fabrications. Our team of over 140 members is highly trained and has decades of experience, enabling us to meet the stringent, highly technical needs and demands of the industries we proudly serve.

Position Overview



The Estimator plays a critical role in supporting the sales and engineering teams by developing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for the fabrication of custom projects. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, ability to navigate blueprint drawings, and of geometry and trigonometry. The ability to process material specifications, regulatory standards (ASME, API, etc.), and customer requirements are also necessary. The Estimator, alongside other departments, ensures that proposals are technically sound, financially viable, and aligned with company capabilities and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities



Collaborate with engineering to validate design feasibility and scope. Analyze RFQs, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates. Calculate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs. Prepare budgetary and formal quotations for the sales team. Coordinate with sales and production teams to ensure alignment with client expectations and shop capacities. Liaise with outside vendors for material and subcontractor pricing and lead times Work with production to assess shop capacity, fabrication timelines, and labor availability. Occasional involvement in customer meetings to review job scope, assess concerns, clarifications, and potential for alternate offerings Ensure estimates comply with applicable codes (ASME Section VIII, API 650/620, etc.). Incorporate safety, quality, and regulatory considerations into all proposals. Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Assist in managing vendor relationships

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy fabrication, pressure vessels, or industrial manufacturing. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Compress, Excel-based tools). Strong understanding of welding, rolling, machining, and finishing processes. Familiarity with ASME, API, and other relevant codes and standards. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
