Position Summary
The
Estimator
is responsible for evaluating client needs, customer specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the sales process for all the inoLECT family of products including: Remote Racking Safety products, Protective Relay Panels, Power Quality systems as well as maintenance and commissioning labor projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical systems, electrical components, NEMA and IEEE standards, and a proven track record in estimating and project management for this Baton Rouge based role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review and analyze client specifications, drawings, and scope of work for electrical systems.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for all the inoLECT family of products, including labor projects.
Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and other field personnel to gather necessary data and project requirements.
Work closely with project managers and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate estimates are delivered to clients.
Provide support for proposal development, including technical specifications, labor/material cost estimates, and timelines.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Ensure that all estimates align with the company's budgetary constraints and profitability goals.
Stay current with manufacturing standards and industry best practices to ensure compliance and quality in all estimates.
Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, bids, change orders, and any adjustments made throughout the life cycle of a project.
Must effectively time manage when faced with competing deadlines.
Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
High school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical apparatus or manufacturing estimates is required.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, testing procedures, and standards.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, plans, and specifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients, team members, and vendors.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required for site visits and client meetings.
Skills:
+ Proficient in Excel, MS Word, Adobe PDF and Salesforce.
+ Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.
