Job Description

Overview

The Equipment Operator's primary function is to operate excavators or bulldozers to perform clearing, stripping, sitework, storm drain, rough and fine grading tasks, base and paving work. Equipment Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site and to run a variety of equipment as needed.

General Duties and Responsibilities

- Loading and unloading of materials

- Keeping equipment interior clean of dirt and trash and cleaning tracks daily

- Perform daily maintenance and inspection before operating

- Work with a team to complete tasks

- Operate all types and sizes of heavy equipment including, but not limited to:

Loaders, Bulldozers, Excavators, and Various Attachments

- Maneuver motorized heavy equipment in an efficient manner to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials

- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner and adjust to performing other on-site tasks such as broom and shovel work to keep parking lots and roadways clean and safe

- Make certain that maintenance and inspection procedures are followed for trucks, excavators, bulldozers, and all other heavy equipment for proper performance and general upkeep

- Inspect all company equipment daily and perform necessary upkeep tasks such as fueling, greasing, and any normal operating adjustments

- Report any injuries and equipment damage to management immediately

- Always observe stipulated safety codes

Ensure that each job site is safe, secure, and clean daily including making sure all tools and equipment are picked up and accounted for to prevent easily avoidable workplace hazards and accidents

Requirements

- 2 years excavator and/or bulldozer experience preferred but not required

- Understanding of grades and elevations

- Good communication skills

- Familiarity with construction equipment

- Ability to lift 50lbs.

- Ability to walk up slopes/stairs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
