Interested in street maintenance? In this hands-on role you will have the opportunity to work on the paved roads in Lancaster County outside the city limits of Lincoln. Some examples include repairing asphalt and concrete, maintaining road surfaces by sealing joints and cracks, and maintaining roadway shoulder integrity. Other responsibilities for this position may include snow removal, storm cleanup, flood response or road-related support for any other emergency that may affect the traveling public. Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent and at least six months of experience in the operation of light and heavy trucks, tractors and tandem axle trucks, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Necessary Specialist Requirements: Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by the County's insurance carrier are required for employment. Applicants for this role who do not already possess and maintain a valid Class A Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement will have the opportunity to train and test for them within the first 60 days of employment.
