The Department of Transportation, Highways Division has ONE (1) urgent vacancy located in Wailuku/Kahului.

• This position REQUIRES a Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) Class A or B, with Endorsement N (Tank vehicles 1,000 gallons or more capacity), and no restrictions relating to code E (manural transmission) and L (air brakes) at the time of application.

Duties Summary

Operates of two or more types of motorized equipment such as trucks, backhoes and tractors/excavators having a factory rated capacity of 1 1/2 but less than 5 tons as a major work assignment; may perform manual work task in connection with general construction and maintenance work; and performs other related duties as assigned.

General Experience: One (1) YEAR of work experience involving the operation of at least two of the motorized equipment representative of the class Equipment Operator II (e.g., trucks having a factory rated capacity of 1-1/2 but less than 5 tons, and rollers under 5 tons), or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL): At the time of application, applicants must possess a valid Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) - Class A or B, with Endorsement N (Tank vehicles 1,000 gallons or more capacity), and NO restrictions relating to codes E (manual transmission) and L (air brakes).

NOTE: If a copy of your CDL is NOT SUBMITTED at the time of application, your application will be REJECTED.
A valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted. If you are selected for this position, you must transfer your out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii-issued CDL prior to your employment start date and within 30 days of arriving in Hawaii. Physical Ability: Applicants must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, and objects weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance by another person and/or the use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck, etc.) for heavier loads, with or without reasonable accommodation.
