We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Equipment Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment to facilitate construction projects efficiently and safely. Your expertise will help ensure that projects stay on schedule, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety regulations. Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, skid steer and other machinery to perform tasks including grading, excavation, lifting, and material handling.
Manage and operate specialized vehicles like concrete mixers, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery as needed for various project phases.
Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning; perform routine maintenance and report any issues promptly.
Follow detailed instructions from site supervisors to complete tasks accurately while maintaining safety protocols at all times.
Assist with site preparation activities including clearing land, leveling surfaces, and setting up construction zones.
Coordinate with team members to load and unload materials efficiently using appropriate machinery.
Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities for compliance purposes.
Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and contribute to creating a safe work environment for all team members.
Requirements
Proven experience operating construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, or similar machinery on active construction sites.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with experience driving heavy-duty vehicles like dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, or tanker trucks preferred.
Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads and working in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
Knowledge of construction materials and processes is highly desirable.
Experience working with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is a plus.
Certifications related to heavy equipment operation or specific vehicle types are advantageous but not mandatory.
