Job Description


The NOLS Pacific Northwest Outdoor Equipment Assistant will work primarily in the Outfitting Department to provide excellent course support for students and staff through preparation, issuing, maintenance, and organization of outdoor equipment.

What does an Equipment Assistant do?

Prepare outdoor equipment for pre-course briefings

Organize Outfitting Department prior to course issue and de-issue days

Lead staff and students during course issue and de-issues process

Assist with managing \xe2\x80\x9cCash-Out\xe2\x80\x9d process and invoicing of students, instructors and staff

Use point of sale program and cash register to cash-out students and staff, and adhere to NOLS financial procedures

Regularly maintain, repair, and organization outdoor equipment

Perform transportation tasks to support operational logistics and other duties as assigned by Operations Manager

Provide timely and growth-oriented feedback to supervisor and co-workers.

Actively contribute to a positive and healthy community living environment while striving to maintain balance between work and life.

Use of point of sale systems

Experience and knowledge of outdoor equipment

Ability to repair damaged gear (i.e. zipper repairs, patching, sowing, stove repair)

Familiarity with Google Suite

History of excellent customer service and communication skills

Be 21 years of age - NOLS Insurance requires drivers to be at least 21 years old

Possess a valid driver\'s license, have a clean driving record and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Report check, and feel comfortable driving passengers in a 15 passenger van

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Examples include but are not limited to, duffels of equipment, merchandise, and boxes of merchandise.

Strong attention to detail and a vision and ability to complete tasks.

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Desire to live and work in a small community
