Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Equine Surgery Scheduler & Administrative Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our equine surgical services by coordinating schedules, managing patient records, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a background in medical administration, and a passion for equine care. This key role ensures the smooth coordination of surgical/lameness cases and the accuracy of medical documentation to support the highest level of patient care. Responsibilities



Work Closely with the equine surgeon, his technicians and the front office team to schedule surgical procedures, pre-operative evaluations and follow-up appointments. Prepare and manage all necessary paperwork related , including: discharge instructions for all surgical and lameness patients, ultrasound reports, x-ray/radiology reports, farm call reports, surgery reports and sale reports Ensure timely and accurate medical and recordkeeping Track case progress from intake to discharge, ensuring no details are missed Communicate with clients and referring vets regarding reports Support billing processes related to surgical cases (if needed)

Experience



Previous experience in equine veterinary medical profession. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong written and verbal communication abilities Familiarity with equine medical terminology and procedures a plus Experience with medical scheduling, administrative support, or as a medical receptionist is beneficial. Comfortable working closely with a small, specialized team Able to thrive in detail-focused, deadline driven environment Proficient with veterinary or medical software systems (or a quick learner)
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
