Equine Barn Worker wanted for commercial training facility

We are looking for multiple people to join our team:

1) Someone interested in more of an assistant manager role 4-6 days per week

2) Several PT employees looking for 1-2 days of work per week to support the main staff

We are a smaller operation with high quality standards

Show and Lesson facility in Bloomfield, NY in need of committed individual with horse experience to join our staff.

This is a very important role and is the direct assistant under the owner/trainer of the farm.

*Although not required, we are on the hunt to find someone capable of filling this role and who is interested in teaching w/t/c beginner and hobby lessons to riders not interested in showing.

Requirements:

Must have previous horse handling experience.

We are willing to work with someone who needs more knowledge and training. But must have a solid base and understanding of the basics (leading, blanketing, feed, pasture care, signs of lameness, signs of distress, etc.) Must be able to work a minimum of 1-2 days a week. Must be within a 25 minute radius the farm in East Bloomfield, NY. Must have reliable transportation Must have a cellphone with texting capabilities Some major holidays will be required but will be rotated with other employees.

This is a requirement of the job.


Details:

Morning shifts start at either 6:30 or 7:30am pending the time of year. Morning shifts are required. Operational days are either short or half days. Short days are morning shift only. Typically ending between 10-11am Half days are morning shifts and into the early afternoon. Typically ending between 1-4pm (these days include things such as grooming for pro rides, holding for farrier, holding for vet, etc)

Stall cleaning is a requirement

Pay rate starts at $15.00 regardless of previous experience. Raises can be discussed for qualifying individuals after 60 days of positive employment. Owner of the farm is also a commercial transporter and travels out of state frequently. A trusted individual is a must to fill this role as many shifts will be unsupervised. Great communication is a must.

Tardiness and no call/no shows will result in termination.

Calling off day of without a doctor's note will result in termination

A riding and traveling position will be offered to the perfect candidate if desired. Additional opportunities for income will be allowed to qualifying candidates
Do not show up at the property without a scheduled interview. Property is by appointment only.
