Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Services Supervisor to oversee cleaning and sanitation operations within a healthcare or commercial facility. The ideal candidate will ensure that all areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations. This leadership role requires strong knowledge of OSHA standards, janitorial practices, and environmental services management. The supervisor will coordinate staff, monitor cleaning procedures, and maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily cleaning operations across multiple departments or areas, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Develop and implement cleaning schedules that meet hospital or facility standards for sanitation and safety. Train and mentor custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and OSHA compliance. Conduct regular inspections to monitor cleanliness levels, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with health regulations. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and storage. Enforce safety policies related to hazardous materials, floor care, and janitorial equipment to prevent accidents or injuries. Collaborate with management to develop policies for environmental services that support infection control and sanitation standards. Document inspection results, maintenance activities, and staff performance as required by regulatory agencies.

Skills

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations related to environmental services and janitorial work. Proven experience in cleaning, sanitation, or custodial roles within hospital or healthcare settings preferred. Expertise in floor care techniques including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team of custodial staff. Familiarity with hospital or commercial cleaning standards and procedures for infection control. Ability to train staff on proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment while maintaining safety protocols. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inspecting work quality. Effective communication skills for coordinating with management and staff at all levels.
