Weston County Health Services is seeking a Full-Time & PRN Environmental Services Aide to play a vital role in supporting our patients and residents. Position Summary Section:



Under general direction an EVS Aide, cleans all areas of the hospital and nursing home by performing routine cleaning of patient and resident rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors. Demonstrates the ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.

Essential Functions Section:



Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Weston County Health Services (WCHS). Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Team and WCHS. Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors in a clean, neat and sanitary manner. Performs terminal/detailed cleaning by following a check list or as instructed by the Infection Prevention Nurse. Completes Work Assignments in a timely manner. Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. Uses and maintains equipment properly. Assists visitors with directions whenever requested. Always introduces self to patients, residents, families, and visitors. Reports safety hazards as appropriate. Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas. Replenishes supplies as needed. Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and Isolation Precautions. Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties. Works all shifts as assigned. Has the ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision. Observes safety precautions at all times. Maintains age specific safety precautions. Has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Has the ability to read and understand equipment operation manual. Cleans and maintains floors by using heavy equipment to clean, strip, and polish floors on a scheduled/routine basis. Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations, and interdepartmental objectives. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, trainings, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops; shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education and learning.

Professional Requirements Section:



Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean. Completes annual education requirements Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Wears identification while on duty. Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and local regulations. Represents WCHS in a positive and professional manner at all times. Complies with all WCHS policies and standards regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of WCHS. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Attends regular staff meetings and in-services.

Minimum Qualifications Section:



High school diploma or equivalent. Has the ability to communicate effectively in English

Has the ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude. Has the ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information. Has the ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner. Has the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Has the ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.

Physical Requirements Section:



Working irregular hours including weekends, holidays, and other circumstances that would require EVS to be present. Physically demanding, high-stress environment. Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions. Pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Full range of body motion including during handling and lifting. Positions requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry. Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.73 - $23.64 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
