BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for effective overall management of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department and coordination with other disciplines to provide a sanitary environment for all residents/staff in compliance with the current Federal, State, OSHA, and local standards governing the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping and laundry departments to ensure functions are performed in a regulatory and efficient manner.
  • Ensures effective and efficient organization and staffing of the housekeeping and laundry departments.
  • Train all subordinate staff to perform housekeeping and laundry tasks in a safe and accurate manner, and following all infection control procedures established by the facility, laws and regulations.
  • Schedule work assignments to ensure a clean homelike environment on a consistent basis.
  • Hires, supervises and evaluates the performance of the subordinate staff. Also
  • Ensure all housekeeping and laundry staff follows facility policy/procedure as well as federal, state, OSHA and local standards.
  • Assure an adequate supply of housekeeping and laundry supplies are maintained and properly stored.
  • Ensure housekeeping and laundry equipment is maintained and properly used and stored and kept in good repair.
  • Ensure housekeeping and laundry staff are aware of their surroundings and reports needed repairs to Maintenance.
  • Ensure that the departments operates within the department operating budget.
  • Works with other departments to coordinate housekeeping duties and resident programs.
  • Actively maintains cohesive public and professional relationships with vendors, residents, families and staff.
  • Assumes full responsibility of the overall operation of the housekeeping and laundry departments.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor or the Administrator.
  • Submits all required paperwork (such as receipts, spend down reports, QA/PI monitoring forms, etc.) in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Performs assigned assignments according to established policies and procedures.
  • Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to the supervisor and/or maintenance department.
  • Reports all malfunctioning equipment or items to be repaired to the supervisor and/or maintenance department.
  • Reports all accidents/incidents as established by department and/or facility policies.
  • Completes all work assignments within the scheduled time frames.
  • Adheres to facility dress code.
  • Develops and maintains a good working relationship and cooperative attitude with intra-departmental personnel, as well as, other department/personnel within the facility.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as, a calm environment throughout the facility.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to ensure resident\xe2\x80\x99s rights are protected.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Supervisor, Program Service Director and/or Administrator.
