Implement and maintain the Contractor's Safety Program effectively.
Coordinate all emergency response activities.
Identify, recommend, and implement controls for observed or potential hazards.
Exercise full authority to correct unsafe acts immediately, including stopping work when necessary.
Lead weekly jobsite safety meetings.
Assist in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for project tasks.
Verify proper use of respiratory protection and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct and document incident reviews, near misses, accidents, and emergency response actions.
Provide hazard recognition, control, and accident prevention oversight.
Identify existing and potential unsanitary or hazardous conditions prior to construction.
Develop and approve the site-specific Contractor's Safety Program.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Outdoor construction environment requiring walking, standing, bending, climbing, and wearing full PPE.
Ability to drive to and from project inspections.
Office work including extended sitting, computer use, occasional bending, and lifting 5-20 lbs frequently and 20-50 lbs occasionally.
Travel required depending on project needs.
May serve as full-time on-site representative for a single project or support multiple projects.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in:
Safety Engineering
Safety & Occupational Health
Industrial Hygiene
Professional certifications preferred (one or more):
Registered Professional Safety Engineer
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST)
Occupational Health & Safety Technologist (OHST)
CIH (ABIH)
Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
Required Training & Skills
Completed OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety course within the past 3 years (including relevant electives such as Confined Space, Hoists, Marine Operations, etc.).
Strong knowledge of current safety trends and industry best practices.
Ability to exercise sound technical judgment and provide expert safety guidance.
