KDHE is comprised of three divisions: Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State's Medicaid program, KanCare). Hourly Pay Range:

$30.46 - $32.78 Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.*

Position Summary & Responsibilities



Position Summary:




The Environmental Data Program Manager position (K0227982) will work to develop, improve, and implement forms, document templates, workflows, and other items critical to utilize an electronic database management system for environmental data. Works with prior environmental datasets to ensure proper conversion and transfer of information is complete. Leads or assists in development of standard operating procedures, guidance, and other documentation to ensure adequate understanding and implementation of programs within an electronic database management system. Develop data and report extraction procedures and processes. Assists with third-party and program staff in identifying functionality requirements, issues, and steps to resolve.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:




Develop, implement, and manage complex database software training program for staff and external users of an online database management system. Work with environmental programs to provide outreach and training opportunities and obtain feedback on online processes. Work with supervisor, staff, and external users to troubleshoot issues and problems related to functionality and misunderstanding of processes to ensure program success in implementing online database management system.

Qualifications



Education

: + High School, GED

Licensing & Certification:

+ Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Four years experience in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, environmental science, natural science, public administration or another relative field.
+ At least one year of experience in planning, organizing, or analyzing the work of a department, program, or agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Quality (Process) Improvement
+ Experience managing projects, grants, or contracts
+ Education or experience in data analysis, database development, or similar
+ Experience developing and implementing procedures or training, especially data management systems
+ Experience & understanding of an environmental program and their environmental data
+ Knowledge or understanding of quality improvement, process improvement, and total quality management
+ Proficiency/familiarity with programming languages: Python, Java, C++, JavaScript
+ Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
+ Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
