The Entry-Level Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the daily operations of Cape Fear Long Term Care Pharmacy by assisting with prescription processing, medication preparation, and inventory management. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their pharmacy career who are detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in serving long-term care facilities and patients.
Key Responsibilities
Prescription & Medication Support -Assist pharmacists with the preparation, labeling, and packaging of medications for long-term care patients
-Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy system
-Refill and package medications using unit-dose and compliance packaging systems
-Ensure prescriptions are processed in accordance with state and federal regulations
Long-Term Care Operations*
-Support medication orders for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other LTC partners
-Help maintain accurate medication records for facilities and residents
-Communicate professionally with nursing staff and internal pharmacy team as directed

Inventory & Organization*
-Assist with inventory control, including stocking, rotating, and checking expiration dates
-Help receive and store medication shipments properly
-Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace
*Administrative & Support Duties
-Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
-Assist with filing, documentation, and record keeping
-Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations
Qualifications
Required*
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Willingness to learn pharmacy laws, procedures, and LTC workflows

Preferred (Not Required)*
Pharmacy Technician registration or eligibility in North Carolina
Previous pharmacy, healthcare, or customer service experience
Interest in pursuing Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
