Job Description

CyberStorm Defense(TM) is seeking an experienced IT Systems Architect to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) in enterprise architecture modernization, cloud adoption, and IT infrastructure transformation across the National Airspace System (NAS).

This role supports the FAA's Enterprise Services Directorate (AJM-3) and Program Management Organization (PMO) under the PTAC contract, providing architecture design, modernization planning, and technical governance to ensure secure, scalable, and mission-resilient IT systems in accordance with FAA AMS and FISMA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop enterprise IT architecture blueprints and roadmaps supporting FAA cloud modernization and digital transformation goals. Provide technical leadership for the modernization of legacy FAA systems under the NAS Enterprise Architecture Framework (NAS EA). Design and validate system interfaces, data flows, and integration points across FAA enterprise applications, networks, and cloud services. Support migration and integration of systems to AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or hybrid FAA environments. Conduct technology assessments and gap analyses for system interoperability, security, and performance. Advise FAA PMO and TechOps teams on best practices for AMS-compliant system design, cybersecurity, and sustainment. Oversee development of architecture documentation, diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs). Support FAA's transition to Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Enterprise Identity Management (EIM) frameworks. Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and cloud engineers to ensure end-to-end alignment of enterprise systems.

Mandatory Qualifications:

10 + years of experience in enterprise IT architecture or systems engineering for large-scale federal or aviation programs. Proven expertise in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or hybrid) and enterprise network integration. Strong understanding of FAA Enterprise Architecture (NAS EA), AMS lifecycle, and FISMA/NIST RMF frameworks. Experience in system modernization, migration, and architecture modeling using tools such as Sparx EA, ArchiMate, or Visio. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior support to FAA Enterprise Services (AJM-3), TechOps (AJW), or NextGen (ANG) programs. Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect Expert, CISSP, or TOGAF 9+. Experience with Zero Trust, microservices, and API management frameworks. Familiarity with ServiceNow, Splunk, and FAA ITSM/ITOM platforms. Active Public Trust or Secret clearance preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
