Job Description


Are you passionate about facility systems and utilities in a world-class manufacturing environment? We are seeking an Engineering & Utilities Manager to ensure reliable operations of technical systems at LEGO Manufacturing Virginia.

The Engineering & Utilities Manager will lead operations and maintenance of HVAC, compressed air, boilers, chillers, and building utilities. Will ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are in place to secure system reliability. Partner with BMS Manager to drive improvements in energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability performance. Lead external partners and IFM delivery for technical services against SLAs and standards.
Core Responsibilities
Utilities Operations & Maintenance

  • Lead daily operation and maintenance of utilities systems (HVAC, compressed air, chilled/hot water, steam, power distribution, fire protection, etc.).
  • Ensure uninterrupted production through proactive reliability management and robust preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to lead all aspects of monitoring systems (BMS/EMS) and performance analytics.
Energy & Sustainability
  • Drive energy optimization and sustainability initiatives aligned with LEGO Group's 100% renewable and carbon-neutral goals.
  • Track, report, and improve key sustainability metrics (energy, water, CO?, waste).
  • Collaborate with Corporate Energy & Sustainability teams to integrate global strategies at site level.
Projects & Technical Improvements
  • Lead utility-related CAPEX and infrastructure projects -- from scope and design to commissioning and handover.
  • Provide technical expertise and lifecycle input into new construction and retrofits.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation and asset data in CMMS.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all systems align with regulatory requirements and LEGO Group safety and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with EHS and Compliance teams to handle risk assessments, audits, and permits.
  • Champion a strong safety culture within the engineering and utilities team.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Build and develop a high-performing utilities team with clear ownership, competencies, and engagement.
  • Work multi-functionally with Production, Facility Operations, and Projects teams to deliver seamless facility performance.
  • Lead IFM partners and service providers within scope of utilities.

Engineering Design & Sustainability is part of Global Workplace Projects where we are responsible for large scale construction projects and other utility-related projects. ED&S is responsible for the technical aspects e.g., supply concepts, MEP disciplines, building management systems and fire safety. We develop, maintain and innovate our global standards and apply them to projects worldwide. The team consists of 30+ people (mainly engineers), with a broad diversity in functional fields and experience. While the team supports both operations and projects at all sites globally, this position will have a heavy focus on operability.
Do you have what it takes?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial utilities, technical maintenance, or engineering management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advising utilities operations in large-scale manufacturing or process environments.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC, compressed air, power, and building automation systems.
  • Experience with energy management and sustainability reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and partner management skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and project management tools.
  • Proven experience leading facility utilities in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong problem-solving and capabilities in fixing technical issues.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and handle collaborators effectively.
  • Safety & Compliance Oriented.
  • Strategic Energy Management.
  • Experience leading CAPEX/OPEX projects for technical systems.
Additional
Travel: International travel will be required for this position (10%).
Compensation The salary for this position has a range of $100,799.00 - $151,199.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
