Job Description

Tele-Consultants, Inc. (TCI) is actively seeking an experienced Engineering Technician in support of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT).

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Inspect and test incoming assets to evaluate system condition and document all deficiencies. Operate, troubleshoot, upgrade, and perform diagnostics, recommend repairs, and perform repairs (upon approval). Identify and document failed components and replace failed components as part of the repair process. Conduct teardown, installation, configuration management, final assembly, and verification testing. Perform mechanical, electrical, software regression, pre-installation test and checkout (PITCO). Prepare, update, and submit reports as required.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Minimum of High school diploma or GED; 10+ years' experience working with EHF and SHF MILSATCOM systems, to include baseband equipment.

Additional Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency working with Extremely High Frequency (EHF) and Super High Frequency (SHF) satellite communications systems and associated baseband equipment to include modulators/demodulators (modems), integrated receiver decoders, and communications security (COMSEC) devices. Complete knowledge of requirements to maintain a COMSEC Local Element account to include issue, inventory, and destruction. Strong technical communication skills.

The nature of this position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a thorough background investigation.

The primary location for performance of the work will be Newport, RI occasional travel.
