Job Summary
The Engineering Technician will play a critical role in supporting the manufacturing process by focusing on the mechanical aspects of equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This is a hands-on position for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, not just engineering backgrounds. The role involves working closely with engineers and production associates to ensure smooth operation of production lines and continuous improvement of processes.
Key Responsibilities
Install, modify, move, troubleshoot, repair, and dismantle machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures, layout plans, blueprints, or other technical drawings.
Assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts/components, and/or electrical/electronic systems to create sub-assemblies, assemblies, or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment.
Set up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls to ensure adherence to production and process specifications.
Follow engineering drawings, work order information, Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, SOPs, and other written or verbal instructions.
Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) within the AMMS system for multiple sets of equipment to maintain compliance with production processes.
Continuously work to improve equipment uptime and reduce waste within production processes.
Work in environments that may involve exposure to blood/biohazards and strictly adhere to all PPE and OSHA guidelines.
Essential Requirements
5+ years of relevant work experience, or an AA Degree (Technical/Engineering) with 1+ year of experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with machinery and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical equipment.
Experience with preventive maintenance and compliance systems.
Willingness to work in environments with potential biohazard exposure, following all safety protocols.
