About the Role

UGS is looking for an Engineering Project Manager (Mechanical) who will coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. The PM is responsible for developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility by serving as the manager for multiple projects working with a team of Project Engineers (Mechanical). The PM will create timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.

We provide expert engineering solutions to our customers. You will do the same by:

  • Leading the end-to-end engineering project life cycle (schedule, scope, budgeting, allocating resources, etc).
  • Be the guide/mentor for Project Engineers (Mechanical) who will be your assets on the projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Develop project schedule, scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation together with the Engineering Manager
  • Develop a detailed project schedule to track progress
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Facilitates communication among clients/customers and project engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
  • Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or related discipline, required. Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience required
  • Thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
