Job Summary

We are seeking a

hands-on Engineering Manager

with a

mechanical or industrial engineering background

to lead our engineering and CAD teams. This role supports

custom equipment design, project execution, and manufacturing coordination

in an engineered-to-order environment. The Engineering Manager will oversee daily engineering operations while working closely with project management, production, and executive leadership.

This is a

full-time, on-site engineering management position

located in Owosso, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and lead the

engineering department

, including mechanical engineers and CAD designers Oversee

mechanical design and industrial equipment design

for custom pollution control systems Support

engineered-to-order (ETO)

and

custom manufacturing projects

Plan and manage

engineering schedules, priorities, and workloads

to meet production deadlines Collaborate with

project managers, manufacturing, fabrication, and leadership teams

Review and approve

engineering drawings, CAD models, calculations, and technical documentation

Ensure designs comply with

customer requirements, engineering standards, and applicable codes

Drive

continuous improvement

in engineering processes, documentation, and workflows Provide

technical support

during fabrication, installation, and startup Mentor and develop engineers and designers to improve performance, efficiency, and quality

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in

Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field

5+ years of engineering experience

in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or custom fabrication Experience with

custom equipment design

or

engineered-to-order systems

Experience in

engineering project management

or project execution support Experience leading or managing a

CAD or design team

Proficiency in

CAD software

(AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar) Strong

leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work in a

hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Previous

Engineering Manager, Lead Engineer, or Supervisory

experience Experience with

industrial air pollution control equipment

,

process equipment

, or

heavy industrial systems

Knowledge of

shop fabrication, welding, and field installation practices

Experience supporting

manufacturing operations

and production troubleshooting
