Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team! The Engineering Manager is a key production & maintenance plant based technical resource with focus on world leading high purity gas manufacture, purification, and packaging. This individual provides project engineering and project execution knowledge and skills to address issues relating to process performance, product quality, productivity, new process start-up, process improvement, operations support and safety. The Engineering Manager also provides project execution on internal capital projects based at the local manufacturing site. This role interfaces with E&SG Commercial Development and Engineering, SHEQ, and Business Development groups.

Salary Range- $ 88,875 to $ 130,350 (commensurate with industry experience)
What you will be doing:
Acts as the lead technical representative in HAZOPs and design reviews
Participates on project and technical teams providing technical guidance to plant operations, project teams and other process engineers.
Design and develop project plans (new systems, upgrades, efficiency improvements, and maintenance projects) and execute the plan, using available resources, while maintaining strong timeline and cost controls in order to achieve safety, quality, and business requirements
Develops system designs for ultra-high purity gas purification, handling and disposal
Establishes technical system requirements by reviewing product requirements, customer specifications, and performance standards
Establishes and maintains plant document control standards to ensure change and revision control
Develops software / controls narratives and works with system integrators during software development
Ensures compliance with Linde policy and government regulations
Participate in final field safety inspections
Principal Responsibilities
Direct Supervision and management of plant engineering staff, and contract engineers verifying compliance to Linde standards.
Improving production plant performance by driving process improvements. These improvements will include tracking and eliminating downtime, equipment reliability and integrity, improving maintenance, improving first pass yield, increasing production rates.
Design and develop project plans (new systems, upgrades, efficiency improvements, and maintenance projects) and execute the plan, using available resources, while maintaining strong timeline and cost controls in order to achieve safety, quality, and business requirements.
Manage project budgets, up to $1MM US, with a cumulative budget of $1MM-$3MM.
Auditable compliance with OSHA PSM, and EPA RMP standards and policies, plus proactive collaboration with operators and plant management to address safety and quality concerns.
Provide expertise and ensure compliance to applicable building, electrical, and fire prevention codes, as well as alignment to industry standards (e.g. CGA, ISO).
Responsible to transfer projects from the Engineering Phase to Operations. Including completion of project specific documentation, including installation drawings, SOP's, risk assessment/HAZOPs, PSSR/commissioning procedures, customer presentations/progress reports, turnover manual, Lessons Learned/project close-out reports, etc.
Collaborative and proactive attitude towards safety and quality standards. -- Supervise contractors and vendors complying with all Linde Golden Rule and appropriate safety requirements
Focus on best practices related to capital equipment cost savings, reduced maintenance costs, and enhanced system reliability.
Support the implementation of Lean projects
Additional Accountabilities:
The Engineering Manager must recruit, hire and develop personnel to form a high performance team that maximizes productivity and ensures highest levels of safety and quality.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Authorize plant and maintenance purchases up to $10,000.00.
Identifies opportunities for standardization. Creates opportunities for sharing best practices, and leverages knowledge within and between the RBU N.A. and BA Electronics through development of fully documented standard designs. Key contributor to the department's standardization objectives for electronics operations.
Support corporate and division goals for GAP/HPO and productivity gains.
Identify potential GAP/HPO projects at E&SG plants which have the ability to create cost savings and/or increases in productivity.
Develop project IO's in accordance with company accounting procedures. Track project budget throughout project and close in accordance with company accounting procedures.
Perform and/or support the design of gas systems, including development of Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, BOM's, and fabrication drawings.
Manage assigned projects, involving multiple team members, where opportunities for improvement exist in efficiency, capacities, safety, yield, etc.
Implement, without delay, necessary changes to achieve desired results in compliance with all quality and safety guidelines.
Provide engineering and operational support to the plant, including the production, manufacturing, analytical, and cylinder preparation departments.
Qualifications
What makes you great:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Chemical preferred
5 years of experience in high purity gas manufacture and processing
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Working knowledge and experience with applicable NFPA codes and CGA guidelines
Actively and visibly supports culture of collaborative safety and health in the workplace
Demonstrated commitment to high level of operational discipline and compliance to standard work procedures
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and AutoCAD
