The Engineering Manager holds a pivotal role; driving the mechanical design of HVAC systems in the commercial retrofit market as well as implementing and managing energy efficiency programs for our clients' facilities. You'll lead our mechanical and energy engineering arm of the business and be responsible for engineering projects.
Our client-centric approach is built on long-term relationships and evaluating current needs and design criteria, not simply replacing "like for like." The Engineering Manager is expected to have knowledge of building systems and operations in order to provide expert advice on building optimization. Our engineering team works closely with sales, operations and external clients to provide solutions that truly enhance performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical engineering, energy management, controls, and operational delivery.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field
Licensing: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is a plus
10+ years of experience in engineering
6+ years of experience in energy management/energy engineering or in HVAC design in the MEP market with a focus on mechanical infrastructure
Demonstrated leadership skills with prior experience leading engineering teams
Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit MEP
In-depth understanding of energy management principles, building systems, building codes, and energy regulations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a team of mechanical and energy engineering personnel to achieve business objectives and personal development
Establish metrics that report and demonstrate team success
Act as engineering subject matter expert to internal and external customers
Facilitate mechanical design and delivery of stamped construction documents (drawing and specifications) on assigned projects
Conduct in-field verification and analysis of existing systems to support design decisions
Provide permit support to operations team to ensure code compliance
Coordinate project design with other disciplines (i.e. building automation, structural, electrical)
Perform technical audits of building systems
Assist with development of project schedules, budgets, and contracts
Provide technical support for both sales and operations
Explore new technologies, stay abreast of current industry and market trends, and communicate learnings regularly to the engineering and sales teams

COMPENSATION:
Starting pay: $126,000 to $169,000 annually
