Under immediate supervision, as a part of an internship program, performs varied administrative assignments for an administrator within the Utilities and Engineering Departments. The intern will complete 12 weeks, rotating to each of the two departments. Intern(s) will prepare a report of activities and conduct a brief presentation at conclusion of internship; does related work as required.
Examples of Duties

Assists in developing Utilities and Engineering and/or project activities.
Accompanies department administrators to meetings and conferences; participates in organizational studies; asks questions and provides stimulus for examination of organizational practices and procedures; may be called upon to reply to public and interdepartmental inquiries.
Evaluates existing administrative policies, practices, and techniques and recommends improvements which are in turn evaluated by an administrator.
Typical Qualifications

Must currently be enrolled in an engineering, environmental science/sustainability, chemistry, or related program of study. Applicant must have an open mind, a strong desire to learn and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Good oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail required.
