Engineering Intern

Goals: This position is in our Engineering and/or Production Management Department Job Requirements: BS or MS Engineering Students This position is in a CNC production machining and assembly facility producing automotive parts Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Experience using Microsoft Access and Outlook Attention to Detail Ability to meet strict deadlines Ability to quickly learn new processes and procedures Excellent organization and time management skills Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change Demonstrated ability to make logical decisions Knowledge of Document Control a plus Excellent typing skills Will communicate with customers, suppliers, and fellow employees via in person conversations, phone, or network e-mail and Objectives: This position is in a CNC production machining and assembly facility producing automotive parts This position will entail analyzing manufacturing projects to measure, identify and eliminate waste from the system. In this role, you will be interacting with the engineering staff members, engineers and management executives with your direct report to the Vice President, Production Manager, Production Supervisor, and/or Lead Engineering Assistant. Duties will include Process Engineering, Project Management, Documentation, Lean Manufacturing projects, 5S, and other production work flow projects, data administration, and engineering processing documentation. Other work will be on projects related to productivity analysis, layout analysis, and material flow, amongst others. You will be required to lead meetings to present findings Presentation preparation of findings. Pay rate: $19.00/hr Shift and hours required: 40 hrs/week Day shift and 2nd shift positions available
