This position assists the Project Engineer, Engineering Technician III, and staff in construction project observation, surveying, drafting, inventories as well as other engineering related tasks.

Examples of Duties

----------------------


Assists in surveying and construction observation of municipal improvement projects such as water and sewer mains, curb and gutter, street lights, sidewalks and streets. Consults plans and specifications to determine compliance; prepares spreadsheets and haul sheets for payment for materials used in construction; conducts pavement ratings and inputs information into the pavement management systems; assists in the hazardous sidewalk inventory. Makes routine algebraic and geometric calculations following well-defined procedures and formulas. Uses computer-aided drafting software or other method to develop engineering drawings. Acts as an assistant to a technical superior. Performs other duties of a comparable level/type as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of a high school education and currently enrolled in a curriculum in Land Surveying, Engineering Technology, Transportation, Civil or closley related Engineering field at an accredited college or university with a grade point average of 2.75 or above on a 4-point scale.



Possesion of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
