Job Description
This position is a member of the Des Moines LeMar Engineering Team. This position will help in the design of high-quality structural products for our customers.
Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:
Assist in exploring/developing updates to current structural product lines.
Assist in updating sample calculations for structural products.
Assist in building tools to make project estimation/quoting as well as engineering design faster.
Gain experience using building codes such as ASCE 7, IBC, OSHA 1910, etc.
Gain experience calculating structural loads and strengths of steel members and connections.
Gain experience reading structural drawings.
Gain experience checking shop drawings, such as weld details, dimensions, and tolerances.
Observe the steel fabrication process, taking engineered designs and seeing them take shape.
