Job Details Remote The Energy Solutions Development Engineer operates as a subject matter expert in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, national support team in Johnson Controls Building Solutions North America. The Solution Development Leader role requires a self-directed, internally motivated and operates with personal integrity with a strong foundation in design, energy engineering, technology, and a proven track record for supporting opportunities through the entire sales cycle. The ultimate responsibility of the Living Spaces Vertical Market team is to ensure that all federal and state governed work performed by Johnson Controls is compliant to federal regulations and state statutes. When required, this position supports all living spaces including public and affordable housing, privatized military housing, senior and assisted living facilities, State VA Hospitals, and correctional facilities. This position reports to the Living Spaces Vertical Market Director. Work performed by Johnson Controls that is governed by federal, state and local regulations and/or statutes, must be performed in a consistent and compliant manner nation-wide. The ESDE works with national and region teams during the entire sales cycle including qualify, solution development, project implementation, and guarantee/M&V phases of an opportunity to ensure quality, continuity, and program compliance, Objective of the Living Spaces Vertical Market group is to reduce risk, ensure quality, explore the full extent of federal and state programs to maximize the project benefits for our customers, and work to expand our vertical market business through innovative approaches and offerings. How you will do it

  • Understands the full range of JCI offerings and their applications in customer solutions. Devises multiple offerings to meet specific program requirements as identified by the Solutions Design Specialist.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the development of multiple components of the bundled sale.
  • Maximizing this vertical market offerings through existing and emerging requirements, utilizing wide range of strategies available, utilizing available technologies, exploring technology advancements around the living spaces housing market
  • Actively identifies and documents new approaches, strategies, vehicles to market, market expanding opportunities, and supports other members of the team in exchanging knowledge and applying best practices.
  • Act as an informational focal point for the national and regional teams in applying new strategies and offerings which create additional savings, revenue, and other funding opportunities for housing.
  • For target opportunities, assist the national and regional teams by providing subject matter expertise to identify unique and strategic approaches to secure business and establish an initial entry point at these targets
  • Develop projects from \xe2\x80\x9cQualify\xe2\x80\x9d to \xe2\x80\x9cPresent\xe2\x80\x9d phase of the sales process including initial client assessment and evaluation, HUD submissions, IRA funding applications, presentations, education, and interpretation of regulations, justification, and secure all necessary government approvals.
  • Ensure that all projects are compliant with local codes, regulations and statutes.
  • When required assist in contract review, contract modifications, and maintaining department records.
  • Oversight of and assist when required with the Prepare and/or review all EPC operating subsidy back up data and track submissions
  • Help foster creativity and build solutions in living spaces business environment
  • Leads or participates in other duties as assigned.
What we Look for:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a core engineering field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience of 5 years or more
  • Experience working with government agencies
  • Basic understanding of procurement, regulations, and federal statutes
  • Building and energy systems in terms of their technical properties related to energy, economic, and environmental impacts.
  • Knowledge of technology providers and application of emerging technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in MS office (excel, word, power point, teams), Adobe, Visio, MS Project, basic Windows environment, and internet business application usage is helpful.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills with high attention-to-detail.
  • Demonstrated independent decision-making skills
  • Proven time management and project management skills.
