The Washington State University (WSU) Energy Program supports partners throughout Washington, the Northwest, and beyond in improving energy efficiency and developing resilient and reliable energy sources to advance the region's economic and environmental wellbeing.
As the
Energy Professional
, you will primarily support the
Green Transportation Program
, which promotes sustainable transportation solutions across the region. In this role, you will play a key role in delivering education and technical assistance for the Green Transportation Program. Key educational responsibilities include publishing educational materials and website content, as well as hosting virtual and in-person meetings, webinars, and events with a range of diverse communities and partners. Primary technical assistance duties include consulting with program clients, performing techno-economic analyses, presenting findings, and supporting client progress across the region.
You will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing program data for green transportation efforts, you will assist in conducting performance assessments and in the development of recommendations for improvements. This may involve developing and organizing data using tables and charts, Geographic Information System (GIS)-style maps and data visualization tools. In addition, you will contribute to programmatic research activities to identify best practices in green transportation programs and may support workforce analysis and workforce development activities.

Temporary End Date:
This is a temporary position expected to end on June 30, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary:
$4,166.67 - $5,613.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant program discipline. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive).
Proficiency with remote meeting tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Willingness and ability to travel regionally, including occasional overnight trips.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in zero-emission transportation, fleet services, or related fields.
Experience developing and implementing programs
Willing to take initiative to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service in dynamic environments.
Experience working with disadvantaged communities and/or Tribal Nations
