:
As an Energy Assistance Program (EAP) Specialist, you'll process energy assistance applications, provide support to participants, and ensure accurate data entry in a fast-paced environment. You'll assist with document submission, conduct outreach, and refer participants to relevant programs. The role requires adherence to EAP guidelines, ongoing training, and a commitment to helping low-income families and individuals in the community. EAP is a seasonal program with applications processed from approximately September through May each year. Various factors will affect the actual end date, but position is expected to last no more than 6 months. Successful EAP Specialists may be asked to return for the following EAP season.
This temporary full-time position (40 hours per week) is Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Starting pay is $18-20 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass required background study, as defined by position
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years of work experience using a computer, performing data entry, and providing customer service
• Ability to solve problems, identify new solutions, apply critical thinking and adapt to changing priorities, all while working in a fast-paced environment
• Extensive organizational and administrative skills, attention to details, and an ability to handle multiple tasks
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
• Experience with Laserfiche, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software
• Ability to work with the public, articulate ideas, and work with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
• Self-motivated and confident, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Bilingual skills (spoken and written Somali/English or Spanish/English) preferred but not required
