Job Description

The Employment Specialist/Job Developer/Job Coach will work with jobseekers referred from NC Vocational Rehabilitation. Typically, the Employment Specialist/Job Developer/Job Coach will assist an individual from intake to successful closure. Lee, Harnett, and Chatham Counties in North Carolina are currently served by the Stevens Center.

Under general supervision, the Employment Specialist/Job Developer/Job Coach will assist jobseekers to secure employment, through contacts with employers, by helping jobseekers identify their interests and aptitudes, and explore careers, by helping jobseekers identify and contact others that can help them secure employment, by helping jobseekers develop the tools and skills to successfully obtain and hold a job.

After a job is secured, the Employment Specialist/Job Developer/Job Coach will develop a plan to provide on-the-job coaching of hard and soft skills.

The Employment Specialist/Job Developer/Job Coach also assists employers in the selection and referral of applicants to them, in obtaining tax credits and deductions related to employment of people with disabilities, in orienting hired jobseekers in their duties and responsibilities as employees, and in trouble shooting obstacles to hiring or employing people with disabilities.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
