To support people with disabilities and special needs receiving Day Services provided by the Disabilities Board of Charleston County by developing employment opportunities and teaching job skills necessary to assist participants maintain competitive employment.
Completes vocational assessments of assigned consumers to assist in determining Employment interests, vocational strengths and training needs related to competitive employment.
Provides assistance for assigned consumers in all aspects of the Job Search process to include completing applications, interviewing and meeting pre-employment requirements.
Provide on-the-job training of assigned consumers in order to teach individuals proper procedures for completing assigned job duties.
Facilitates the development of natural supports, job modifications, and required accommodations in order to maintain successful competitive employment.
Maintains regular contact with employer, consumer, and other parties involved to identify and address potential employment related issues.
Develops and maintains accurate and thorough documentation of services through development of the Individual Plan of Supported Employment (IPSE) as well as completion of case notes to support billing activity.
Maintains and submits billing documentation in accordance with departmental procedures as well as policies of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.
Actively promotes an environment free of abuse and neglect which respects the individuality and dignity of all service recipients.
Participates in regular training in order to maintain compliance with annual educational requirements as well as maximize knowledge of issues/trends associated with the employment of individuals with intellectual and related disabilities.
Operates agency owned vehicles in a safe manner in accordance with The Disabilities Board of Charleston County's Transportation Standard Operating Procedure.
Completes destination training with assigned consumers as necessary in order to assist consumers in the safe utilization of the public transit system.
Assists individuals with disabilities and their families to determine the impact of competitive employment on existing social security/Medicaid benefits.
Interacts with members of the business community through individual presentations and organizational memberships in order to promote the employment of people with intellectual and related disabilities.
Completes the duties of the Habilitative Support Professional as necessary when assigned to various Enclave and Mobile Work Crews.
Promotes a safe work environment by following all applicable Safety Policies of the agency.

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
