Job Summary: Provides secretarial and customer service support for recruiting by being the first point of contact in the Employment office. Provides team support for the Recruiters, Employment Director and Human Resources Division. Assists with customer service, photo id, paper work and applicant flow.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Completes secretarial/receptionist support for efficient and effective departmental workflow processes by providing team support for the Recruiters, Employment Director and HR Division. Types, photocopies, types word documents, utilizes spreadsheet and database computer software packages, and prioritizes other duties.

Assists the recruiters with the employment paper work by processing the Criminal Background and education checks, Sex Offender Registries, print job descriptions, job requirements and licensures.

Assists the recruiters with contacting applicants on the status of their application, completing references, call applicants on regret calls and setting up interviews with applicants with recruiters and/or managers.

Files applications and candidate rating forms after interviews have been completed. Purges old candidate rating forms according to policy.

Processes payroll for the Employment and Employee Health Department.

Assists current employees with Human Resources related questions by directing them to the appropriate resource.

Provide exceptional customer service support for the Employment Office. First contact for applicants via phone or in person. Also provide customer services for current employees and managers.

Provides customer service to promote a positive image by answering, screening and directing phone calls, greeting and directing applicants/visitors/employees and answering questions.

Completes departmental projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Education
  • High school graduate or G.E.D required.
  • Associates degree in a business related field preferred.
Experience
  • 1 year experience working in an office environment as a secretary required, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Some of all job codes in this position require access to secured data and systems governed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. If this job code requires access, as identified by the supervisor, both regulatory bodies require a screening. Successful completion of this screening is required to assume this position. If certain circumstances, additional screening is required to meet a higher level of access. If the job requires access, failure to complete the applicable access level screening results in candidate becoming ineligible for the job.

  • Knowledge of office procedures particular to Human Resources.
