What You'll Do

As an Employment Consultant, you'll wear many hats...coach, advocate, mentor, and career guide. You'll work one-on-one with adults with IDD to:

Support job seekers in finding positions aligned with their interests, abilities, and transportation options. Provide on-the-job coaching during onboarding and training, with a focus on building independence. Collaborate with employers to ensure inclusive workplaces that value self-advocacy and equal opportunity. Teach workplace safety, public transportation, and job-readiness skills in creative, supportive ways. Help increase community awareness, share stories of success on social media, and support fundraising events that fuel this mission.
What You Bring (Required Qualifications)

UNTWISE credentials

in Job Skills Training and Job Placement(or willingness to complete)

Minimum of 30 college credit hours

At least 2 years' experience

supporting individuals with IDD, ideally in employment or transition settings Strong communication and presentation skills - comfortable engaging with students, educators, and employers; some public speaking required Ability to discuss sensitive topics with compassion and professionalism Personal vehicle with insurance (frequent local travel required) Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events
