Position Overview:

As an Employment Connection Specialist, you will work closely with clients to assess their skills, interests, and goals, and provide them with the necessary tools, training and resources to secure employment. You will collaborate with employers in the community and facilitate a successful transition into the workforce. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support and guidance to help clients maintain long-term employment and achieve their career objectives. The hours for this position are mainly M-F 8-4, but occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide job readiness training + assist in creating resume's and master applications
+ discuss potential barriers, limitations, and potential accommodations
+ interview prep and mock interviews
+ exploration of jobs to determine the best fit
Career Exploration + Find job leads that match clients skills
+ assist with application process if needed
+ contact employers to find out details of positions
Continued follow up + Check in with clients after they have started a new position
+ help with determining accommodations and requesting when necessary
+ engage with employers when appropriate and if client has asked for assistance
- may also include attending orientation with the client and assisting with new employee training and job coaching
Unit tracking and case notes for both Vocational Rehab and SEBH

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, counseling, or related field preferred, Associate's required. Experience in vocational rehabilitation, job development, or employment counseling Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Passion for empowering individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities
