Pharmacy Technician

to join our pharmacy team at our

Corporate Headquarters

located in

Birmingham, AL.

NaphCare Rx

, is NaphCare's in-house pharmacy dedicated solely to correctional facilities across the country. Connected by our operations management software and EHR, TechCare, NaphCare Rx pharmacists become an integrated, essential part of the clinical team, from electronic medicine orders and secure delivery to pharmacy consultation and review. Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, the

Pharmacy Technician

is responsible for receiving and filling prescription requests for employees and patients and completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

This is a full-time, on-site position with hours of Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm.


Responsibilities:

As the

Employee Prescription Pharmacy

Technician

, you will be responsible for receiving and filling prescriptions primarily for employees but may include filling prescriptions for our clients as well.
Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to:Use knowledge and expertise to ensure that pharmaceutical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance, and accreditation standards Communicate effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels within the organization Maintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes Demonstrate personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statutes, rules and regulations and organizational criteria Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all medications Fill prescribed medications and affix labels as necessary Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as required Order, label, and count stock medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and report stock needs and/or shortages

Qualifications:

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications

Must complete sufficient hours of CEU to maintain Technician license and technician certification Ensure all pharmaceutical services provided within the facility conform to state licensure, accreditation, regulatory agency requirements, and company policies and procedures Demonstrate professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, separating professional from personal issues, displaying emotional maturity, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example Notify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient care Will be assigned to departmental duties in other areas as needed Willingness to complete special projects as needed from management Willingness to work assigned schedule and mandatory overtime in peak times Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements

Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
