Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented EMG Technician to join our dynamic medical team. In this vital role, you will perform electromyography (EMG) procedures to assess nerve and muscle function, providing critical diagnostic information for patient care. Your expertise will support physiatrists and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing conditions related to neuromuscular disorders, neurocritical care, and trauma cases. Duties



Prepare patients for EMG procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort and cooperation. Operate specialized EMG equipment to record electrical activity of muscles and nerves accurately. Conduct diagnostic evaluations by performing nerve conduction studies (NCS) alongside EMG tests. Monitor vital signs and ensure patient safety throughout procedures, especially in neurocritical care or trauma settings. Maintain detailed documentation of test results, patient history, and procedural notes with precision. Collaborate with neurologists, neurophysiologists, and other medical staff to interpret findings and assist in diagnosis. Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain the cleanliness of all equipment and work areas. Stay current with advancements in electrophysiology techniques, including updates relevant to Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Center environments. Assist in training new staff or interns on proper testing procedures and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, medical terminology standards, and safety regulations during testing.

Requirements



Proven experience performing electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS), preferably within a Level I Trauma Center or similar high-acuity setting. Strong knowledge of neurophysiology, anatomy, and physiology principles relevant to neuromuscular diagnostics. Excellent understanding of medical terminology related to neurology, trauma care, and critical care environments. Ability to monitor vital signs accurately during procedures and respond appropriately to any changes in patient condition. Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes for neurological disorders is essential for accurate testing interpretation. Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams. Certification or training in electrophysiology techniques is required; ongoing professional development is encouraged. Pay: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
