Veterinary Technician (Full-time/Part-time)

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our team on both a full-time and part-time basis. You will work with a talented and supportive group, delivering top-notch emergency care to our patients.

Qualified applicants for this role:

Shift and Schedule: 4 day work week. Weekends, holidays and on calls required. Perform basic to intermediate nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments. Use understanding of common diseases and conditions, physical assessment, and monitoring parameters to accurately triage incoming patients. Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications and understand potential adverse effects of medications Set-up, monitor, and administer intravenous fluid therapy including constant rate infusions and blood transfusion therapy. Contribute to incoming outpatient care and ongoing inpatient care. Collect samples and perform in house diagnostic tests Perform nursing care tasks such as placing and/or maintaining urinary catheters, nasoenteral tubes, nasal oxygen tubes, chest and abdominal tubes. Administer, monitor, and maintain patients under general anesthesia Perform vascular access techniques including jugular catheter placement, sampling line placement, central line placement. Participate in formulating treatment, anesthetic, and nursing care plans. Conduct treatments according to protocolized plans. Aid in managing patient care workload to ensure the patients are receiving uncompromised care. Organize work area and exercise time management skills to maximize personal efficiency within the practice. Prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks in a calm manor Client Communication Additional duties as assigned based on position/department

Veterinary Technicians Must:

Must have NYS Veterinary Technician's license Some experience working in a veterinary emergency hospital preferred Must have reliable transportation Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires lifting (up to 50 pounds) Flexibility and the ability to accommodate shift work in a hospital that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Have great people skills Communicate well in person, over email, and on the phone Love of animals and a passion to help and heal, first and foremost Good work ethic Competitive wages with overnight differential 401(k) with employer contribution Health, Dental and vision insurance Employee pet health care discounts Paid time off Parental leave Referral program

Hourly pay range is $25 to $35 per hour


For those NOT local to NY and NOT licensed as Veterinary Technicians in NY we would cover the cost for those Veterinary Technicians to get their license to practice in NY
