Respond rapidly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical attention at the scene of accidents, medical emergencies, or disasters.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs measurement, physical examinations, and evaluation of injury or illness severity.
Manage airway patency using airway management techniques and administer basic life support (BLS) procedures to stabilize patients.
Perform critical care interventions such as medication administration, injections, venipuncture, and aseptic techniques when authorized and trained.
Utilize physiology and anatomy knowledge to interpret patient symptoms accurately and determine appropriate treatment priorities.
Operate emergency medical equipment (DME) safely and efficiently during patient care and transport.
Drive emergency response vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols; handle heavy lifting when moving patients or equipment.
Document all patient interactions meticulously, including medical terminology used in reports, vital signs recorded, treatments provided, and incident details.
Collaborate with hospital staff during patient handoff at Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain readiness through ongoing training in emergency medicine procedures, triage protocols, and critical care transport standards.
Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures like venipuncture or medication administration.
Support urgent care operations by assisting with patient evaluations in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics.
Proven EMT experience with current certification; familiarity with Basic Life Support (BLS) is essential.
Critical care experience preferred, especially within hospital settings or trauma centers; Level I Trauma Center experience is highly valued.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency medicine practices.
Skilled in airway management techniques and administering injections or medications accurately under pressure.
Experience performing patient assessments through physical examinations and vital signs monitoring.
Excellent driving skills with a clean record; capable of handling emergency vehicle operations safely while managing heavy lifting tasks.
Familiarity with triage procedures to prioritize patient needs efficiently in urgent scenarios.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during procedures.
Strong communication skills for clear documentation and effective collaboration with healthcare teams during patient handoffs at hospitals or trauma centers.
