Job Overview

We are hiring for 2 Full-Time EMT-B positions. These positions are 48-hours a week, with our schedule being organized to where all field employees work their set 48-hour shift, followed by 5 days of rest.

Join our dedicated emergency response team as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic, where your skills will directly impact lives in critical moments. In this vital role, you will provide immediate pre-hospital care to patients experiencing medical emergencies, ensuring their safety and comfort while preparing them for transport to healthcare facilities. Duties

Respond promptly to emergency calls, assessing situations quickly and efficiently to determine the appropriate level of care needed. Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history collection, utilizing your physiology and anatomy knowledge. Administer basic life support (BLS), including airway management, oxygen therapy, and medication administration within scope of practice. Manage airway patency using techniques such as suctioning or airway adjuncts; handle emergency procedures like venipuncture when necessary. Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating strong driving skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting during patient extrication or equipment setup. Conduct patient care activities such as immobilization, splinting, and facilitating urgent care procedures in the field or during transport. Maintain detailed records of patient assessments, treatments administered, vital signs, and incident reports with accuracy and professionalism. Collaborate with hospital staff during patient handoff, providing comprehensive reports that include critical details like physiology status and medication administration. Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly maintained

Requirements

Valid NREMT certification and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through WVOEMS; Valid driver's license and EVOC certificate; Ability to pass a background check; Proven experience in emergency medicine settings; Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, relevant to emergency medical services; Hands-on experience with airway management techniques, medication administration, and physical examinations; Ability to perform patient assessments accurately under stressful conditions. Demonstrated skill in driving emergency vehicles safely while managing heavy lifting tasks associated with patient extrication or equipment handling. Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
