Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician - Basic to join our emergency response team. The ideal candidate will provide critical pre-hospital care, ensuring patient safety and comfort during emergency situations. This role requires a strong foundation in emergency medicine, patient assessment, and medical procedures, with the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers, urgent care, and emergency rooms.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess patient conditions using triage protocols. Provide basic life support, airway management, and vital signs monitoring to stabilize patients. Perform patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations. Administer medications and injections as authorized and necessary for patient care. Utilize medical terminology accurately to document patient information and communicate with healthcare teams. Operate emergency medical equipment (DME) and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures. Transport patients safely to hospitals or trauma centers, ensuring continuous monitoring during critical care transport. Assist with medical procedures such as venipuncture, medication administration, and airway management. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities following healthcare regulations. Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during all operations, including heavy lifting and driving emergency vehicles.

Experience

Prior EMT experience is required, with additional experience in critical care or hospital settings preferred. Experience with Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Background in emergency medicine, urgent care, or emergency room environments is advantageous. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology related to emergency care. Proven ability in patient assessment, vital signs measurement, airway management, and critical care procedures. Experience administering injections, performing physical examinations, venipuncture, and medication administration. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating emergency vehicles is a plus. Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
