Summary

:



Operates multi and single head sewing machines to embroider name, initial, or decorative designs on garments, household articles, material, or uniforms and to stitch patches or emblems on material or garments by performing the following duties.

Shift:

Sunday-Wednesday 5pm-3am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reads work order to determine type and location of embroidery. Enters appropriate art into the embroidery computer system. Selects size and color thread and draws it through machine guides and bobbin. Removes and replaces bobbin when needed. Adjusts & regulates setscrews to control machine tension. Hoops garments utilizing automatic Hooper and installs in the hoop guides. Observes sewing operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notifies supervisor of malfunction. Repairs defective embroidery or fills in blanks left by embroidery machine. Uses scissors to trim away backing from decoration

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Preferred but not required; Experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic computer skills.
