Job Title

: LONG TERM SUB Special Education Paraprofessional

Pay Grade

: $24/hr

This is a long term sub position which will run through approximately the end of January with the possibility of continued employment after that date.

Summary:

Assist classroom teachers with instructing students, reinforcing materials and skills, implementing curriculum, maintaining technology, and/or managing student behavior. Assist in supervising students throughout the day.

Duties and Responsibilities

? May assist teachers with one or more of the following: implementing lesson plans; maintaining classroom; reinforcing skills and materials; administering, scoring, and/or recording assessment information; progress monitoring students; preparing instructional materials; performing clerical duties; maintaining files, records, and/or progress reports; preparing learning environment with needed supplies and materials; tutoring; and/or leading activities with small groups or one-on-one.

? Supervise and monitor student behavior during daily activities (lunch, recess, field trips, etc)

? Attend appropriate building meetings, in-services, school functions, and/or training.

Education and Licensure

High school diploma or equivalent.

Recommended Experience and Endorsements

Experience in a school setting is preferred. Criminal background check required for hire

? Ability to work with students with diverse needs at various levels
? Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively in a team setting
? Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate department
? Ability to implement support plans
? Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to use hands, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel for average periods of time. Must be able to talk and hear. Must be able to push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds at any given time. Must be able to work in a moderate to loud environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $24.00 per hour
