Position Level and Details

Pay:

$23.43 to $31.49 per hour, depending on license and education

Part-Time Shift:

- A four hour shift each day

Monday-Thursday

, which you may schedule at any time between 9:00 am and 2:30 pm.

- Friday

has a fixed six hour shift from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Overview

The Social Worker or School Counselor provides a variety of student support services at our K through 7 elementary school. The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct group and individual counseling, consult with parents and teachers, and use data to design and implement student supports as assigned. As a member of the Student Services team, this position collaborates closely with school counselors, administration, and other educational professionals.

The Social Worker or School Counselor may also teach students positive behavior, resiliency, leadership, and accountability in small classroom settings. We aim to help students develop the skills to take responsibility for their emotions and behaviors. Classes will have no more than 6 students at a time.

A Day in the Life

You will:

Teach leadership and agent learner classes on a 45 minute rotation Assist with curriculum development with an emphasis on leadership, accountability, and positive behavioral strategies Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents Provide traditional school social work or counseling services as needs arise, including functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention plans, participation in 504 teams, service and intervention tracking, direct intervention services for students, and consultation with teachers and families Participate actively in ongoing professional development Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skill Set

Must hold, or be eligible to hold, a license in social work or school counseling Ability to teach K through 7 students in groups of up to 6 Ability to operate standard office and classroom equipment, including computer, printer, smartboard, copier, phone, and fax Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and in writing Ability to understand and respond appropriately to information and ideas Ability to work effectively in a multimedia environment Ability to perform essential duties efficiently, accurately, and safely, with or without reasonable accommodation
