JOB GOAL: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development incorporating a framework clustered into four domains of teaching responsibility: planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary base on a Teacher Payscale (9.25month teaching contract 190 days), plus benefit package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience. FLSA: Exempt Salary Range: $
TEACHERS SALARY SCHEDULE:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   • Meets and instructs assigned class in the location and at the times designated.
  • Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of the students.
  • Develops and teaches games for students to teach them good skills as well as good social behaviors.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, material and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administration regulation.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or procedures governing student life and conduct.
  • Develops reasonable rules and procedures in order to maintain a classroom climate which is equitable, fair and conductive to learning.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Models a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
  • Makes commitment to time necessary for participating in District/school sponsored staff development.
  • Assumes responsibility for encouraging and involving parents and community in decision making relative to the development and implementation of programs at the building level.
  • Completes daily work schedules as assigned.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Valid teacher\xe2\x80\x99s license in Elementary Physical Education by the Arkansas State Department of Education.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Demonstrates competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Possesses positive interpersonal relations skills.
  • Demonstrates the conviction that all children can and will learn in the Little RockSchool District.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  • Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Describes physical conditions of this position):




Sedentary Work
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm.



Grasping
Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.



Feeling
Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
