Several full-time positions with the Water Department, Wastewater Treatment Division located at 7300 Hawthorne Road
Salary Range: $22.61-$34.48/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Responsibilities




  • Controls trade work and instrumentation in maintenance, inspection, testing, calibration, troubleshooting and repairing a wide variety of industrial facility instrumentation and process control equipment or systems.
  • Sets up and uses instrumentation control equipment including PLC\'s, laptop computers, process controllers, communication systems, level control systems, telemetry/SCADA systems, and emergency and any other on-line computers.
  • Uses remote sensing devices, digital multi-meters, pressure/current/voltage calibrators, oscilloscopes, hand held programming terminals for radios, pressure/flow transmitters, and RF power meters.
  • Exercises considerable independent judgment and initiative identifying and diagnosing instrumentation and control malfunctions to determine correction.
  • Works with voltages including up to and including 480 volts 3 phase AC and 700 volts DC and if working with Electricians, may work with higher AC voltage.


Qualifications





REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of experience as an electronics technician or telecommunications technician; OR an Associate\'s degree or its equivalent in electronics and 1 year of related experience. May be required to possess valid state-issued drivers license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City. Preference given to applicants with experience in industrial electronics, including troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem resolution; a certificate in Industrial Electronics or Instrumentation and Control; Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience and programming; and or experience working with CAD software.
