Use a variety of tools and equipment to align, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic devices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshooting & Repair
Repair units to the component level, that fail production acceptance testing
Determine root cause of failure
Perform rework to eliminate root cause(s)
Retest the reworked unit, passing production acceptance testing to the same level criteria as a non-reworked unit
Appropriately balance amount of time invested troubleshooting with the board value/BOM cost (collaborate with supervisor & engineering, when to scrap, etc.)
Maintain required documentation on all activities
During Testing
Ensure work-station is in proper working order (clean, well-lit, tools ready, personal protective equipment is applied, etc.)
Review paperwork such as BOM's, Work Orders, wiring charts, engineering drawings, diagrams, etc. for each project
Follow all established test procedures for Navigation Aids (NAVAIDS), Surveillance Radios, and other Products
Perform tests on Digital, Analog, and RF Circuits - down to the component level, or up to the top system level
Perform testing on a variety of parts, pieces, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, modules, and systems
Perform a variety of test types including pre-tests and final acceptance tests
Use a variety of Electronic Test Hardware: Multimeters & Digital Multimeters, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes (100 MHz - 2GHz), Frequency Counters (2 GHz), Spectrum & Vector Signal Analyzers (2-6 GHz), Network Analyzers (1.5 GHz), Signal Generators (Vector, Pulse, or Function), Peak & Average Power Meters, Commercial Off the Shelf Test Equipment (COTS), etc.
Verify systems and sub-systems meet industry and customer specifications
Meet deadlines per agreed upon Scope of Work documentation, to ensure timely product delivery.
Interface with our Engineering and Production departments for product reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of RF circuit theory.
Experience working with Electronic Test Equipment (Hardware and Software)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education/Experience: AA Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent is desired.
Minimum 18 months experience in testing avionics or similar equipment is desired.
Minimum 2 year's experience in the assembly, test, troubleshooting and repair of digital, analog and RF circuits to the component level preferred.
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 workmanship standards preferred
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a U.S. government background check investigation.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Lifting of heavy test equipment and systems up to 50lbs individually.
Appropriate manual dexterity needed to work with variety of hand tools.
Vision correctable to 20-20, with no color blindness.
May involve long periods of standing on one's feet.
