Job Description

Summary of :




Incumbent in this position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all CCTV, access control and other related electronic systems.


Minimum Requirements:



Thorough understanding of the principles of "Electronic Theory" Ability to use manual and/or power tools related to installation in new construction and/or old construction in a low-voltage environment Ability to read and follow installation drawings and read blueprints Ability to work in high areas using both ladders and aerial lifts Basic computer and mathematical skills Ability to remain calm under stressful situations by analyzing, prioritizing, and using sound judgment to resolve issues Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule Ability to lift 50 pounds High School Diploma or equivalent Two (2) years' experience as an electronic technician Valid motor vehicle operator's license

Additional Requirements:



On-call status after six-month training period

Level I Skills (Grade 23)



Basic Cabling Infrastructure / Networking + TIA/EIA A+B
+ Cable Pulling
+ Cable termination CAT 5-6, COAX, 18/2, 18/6, 22/4
- RJ45s, BNCs, terminal strips, patch panels, keystone jacks
+ Proper Pathways
+ Pulling tensions
+ Securing cables
Basic Electrical Theory + Normally open and normally closed circuits
Basic Troubleshooting + IP cameras
+ Toning and identifying wires in a closet
Ability to safely and properly use all hand and power tools required for new installations and old construction + Hand Tools
+ Power tools (Hammer Drills, Sawzall's, portable bandsaw, drills)
+ Multimeter use
+ Dahua Camera Tester use
+ Fluke Tester use
- CAT 5-6 Testing
Programming + IP Camera Programming
Basic Understanding of and ability to read blueprints Ability to clearly and accurately document and label all wiring

Level II Skills (Grade 24)



All of Level I Skills plus:




Intermediate Cabling Infrastructure / Networking

Understanding of wires themselves (why we use the wires we use) Intermediate Electrical Theory + Voltage drops
+ Series and parallel circuits
+ Grounding
Intermediate Troubleshooting + Power issues
+ Access Control panels and devices
- Mercury Boards
- Strikes
- Card Readers
- Door Contacts
- Crash Bars
- Electronic Hinges
+ Toning and identifying wires in a closet
Ability to safely and properly use all hand and power tools required for new installations and old construction + Pipe Bending
- 45s, 90s
- Offsets
+ Fluke Tester use
- Fiber Optic Testing
Programming + Netway Programming
+ Intermediate IP Camera programming
Fiber Optic Cable + Running fiber

Level III skills (Grade 25)



All of Level I & II Skills plus:



Advanced Troubleshooting + Analog cameras
+ Access Control panels and devices
- Detex
Ability to safely and properly use all hand and power tools required for new installations and old construction + Advanced Pipe Bending
- Saddle Bends
- PVC bending using heater
